Real World Mom

When I visited my grandparents as a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was to sit on the bed with my grandmother and look through her jewelry boxes. I’ve loved jewelry for as long as I can remember (oohh, shiny!). I’m not sure if it’s because of me and my grandmother’s tradition, or if it was the other way around.

Tim’s mom is going to be moving soon. One day last week, I went over to help her start packing. She pulled out her jewelry box, and told me to take it home and go through it, and to keep what I wanted. It brought back the memories of sitting with my grandmother and looking at all of her treasures. It made me a little sad, because I still miss her a lot, but it mostly made me happy to think of those times again. I realize now that the treasure wasn’t inside of any jewelry box; it was the time shared with someone very dear to me.

Each spring, we are visited by a duck couple (a male and a female), and they stop by every so often throughout the summer. I can’t say for sure that it’s the same pair, but I like to think it is, and that they choose to come see us every year.

These are a few of my favorite things–in no particular order…

My laptop. All my friends live in it!

 

I love candles in all shapes and sizes! Vanilla is my favorite scent.

 

After coffee, Diet Pepsi is my beverage of choice.

 

Who doesn't love some Hershey's Syrup? Confession: I like to put some in a glass of Diet Pepsi. Love me a chocolate soda!

 

I got an HTC Evo 3D/4G cell phone (in my favorite color: purple) last November, and it is AMAZING! It's a mini-computer that you can also use as a phone!

 

You know I couldn't make a list of my favorite things without mentioning coffee!

Maybe because I’ve been sick for the last eleven days, I was having difficulty finding inspiration for this week’s Wordless Wednesday post. I turned to my collection of humorous graphics.
