The End of My Rope

Did you ever feel like just giving up?

The expectations (from others as well as yourself), the hectic pace to do it all (and do it well) just leaves you mentally and physically exhausted all the time.

You see no way out.

Unless you are willing to admit defeat and let it all go.  Or at least let parts go.

Is dealing with failure better than pushing yourself beyond your endurance (just waiting for the proverbial shit to hit the fan–big time)?

I wish I knew…

Ten random things I’m grateful for at this moment:

  1. My G1 is coming this week!
  2. I get paid Thursday.
  3. Wednesday is me and Tim’s three-year anniversary!
  4. My car is still running (knock-on-wood).
  5. My children are safe and healthy.
  6. My fur and feather babies are here with me.
  7. There is food in the fridge.
  8. I have a great life with my Sweetie!
  9. I love my laptop!
  10. I’ve had the opportunity to reconnect with some old friends recently, and I missed them!

What are you grateful for today?

The Change

The Change

One hand
Reaches out
And pulls a lost soul from harm
While a thousand more go unspoken for
They say what good have you done
By saving just this one
It’s like whispering a prayer
In the fury of a storm

And I hear them saying you’ll never change things
And no matter what you do it’s still the same thing
But it’s not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me

This heart
Still believes
The love and mercy still exist
While all the hatred rage and so many say
That love is all but pointless in madness such as this
It’s like trying to stop a fire
With the moisture from a kiss

And I hear them saying you’ll never change things
And no matter what you do it’s still the same thing
But it’s not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me

As long as one heart still holds on
Then hope is never really gone

I hear them saying you’ll never change things
And no matter what you do it’s still the same thing
But it’s not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world we know
Never changes me

What I do is so
This world will know
That it will not change me
