While I’m pretty sure winning the lottery would be thrilling, there are so many ordinary things that make my heart, and my life just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Here are some that come to mind as I write this:
A hug and a kiss from Tim. He’s an incredible hugger! From the moment of our very first hug (which lasted quite a while), I felt like I had ‘come home.’ I knew that’s where I belonged. When he takes me in his arms, I feel loved, safe, and as though everything is completely right with the world. You can’t put a price on that.
Seeing my kids succeed in making their dreams come true.
Watching Madison do “silly puppy.” She rolls onto her back, legs in the air, and wiggles around. She does it when she’s happy and/or trying to earn a treat. You just can’t help but smile when you see it!
When BlackJack’s tail wags. His whole body wags with his tail, and you just know he’s a happy boy!
Feeling the sun on my face, my toes in the sand, and listening to the waves.
Having a good hair day. (Wish this happened a bit more often.)
A good cup of coffee.
Watching a butterfly flitter around.
When the people I love are happy.
None of the things I listed above cost money. No lottery winnings required.
Today, our car wouldn’t start. Not sure yet where the money will come from to have it fixed, but, it will be fixed eventually.
Tim started a new job on Saturday. And I became an Independent Avon Consultant (aka “Avon Lady”). Good things are happening. One glitch isn’t going to stop the momentum we have going!
We are so often surrounded by negativity. I am an optimist by nature, so I’m always looking for the bright side of a situation. I still believe, even under stressful times, there is some good if we just look around for it.
