Tag, I’m It!

Jill over at Caffeine Court (one of my favorite Jersey Girl Bloggers) tagged me with the book meme.

I’m currently reading a book of short stories written by Joseph Conrad  (“Youth“, “Heart of Darkness” and “Typhoon“).  Amazingly, he was born in Poland, yet wrote in exquisite English.
The rules :
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people & post a comment here once you post it to your blog, so I can come see.

Page 123 is from the story “Heart of Darkness.”

“…Yes; I looked at them as you would on any human being, with a curiosity of their impulses, motives, capabilities, weaknesses, when brought to the test of an inexorable physical necessity.  Restraint!  What possible restraint?…”

Once again, I’m breaking the rules as far as the tagging goes.  If you haven’t already done this meme and would like to, please help yourself!

Sky Watch Friday

Over the last couple of weeks, I have visited a lot of the blogs that participate in Sky Watch Friday. I have seen some amazing photos! In no way do I compare myself to the real photographers, yet I have been inspired by them.

Here is my first submission for Sky Watch Friday:

Snowy Tree

This was the view I had this morning when I woke up (yes, more snow!). (And I have to start remembering to turn the date stamp off!)

Maria at Immoral Matriarch: Catechizer left this meme open for anyone, so I tagged myself!

Here are the instructions and my answers:

A) Each player answers the questions about themselves.

B) At the end of the post, the player then tags 2 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. (But, like Maria, I’m not going to tag anyone, I’ll just leave it open to do if you want to.)

Give Me 5

The ‘Give Me Five’ Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list!  Becca from BeccA’s Buzz came up with it, be sure to link back to her! Here’s how it works: Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn’t have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified.

Sign up for weekly reminder emails at beccagirl@charter.net.

This week’s topic: Give Me Five most often visited websites–other than your blog and email account–and why.

Here is my list, in no particular order:

1-  Fubar.  It’s like MySpace for grown-ups.  I’ve met some really cool people there.  (Here’s my page:  Mystic Butterfly on Fubar)

2-  cre8Buzz.  I started an account there as a way to network with other bloggers.  And, while I have been able to do that, I’ve also met some wonderful people!  (Here’s my page:  Real World Mom on cre8Buzz)

3-   e-Bay.  Love the deals I find here sometimes!  And I enjoy selling things once in a while.

4-   You Tube.  For the obvious reasons.

5-   iVillage.  Lots of articles, message boards that I like to read here.

Ok,  your turn!

Announcing the Birth of~

Real World Mom Enterprises

As some of you may know, I have been blogging here on realworldmom.com for a few months now. It’s become my passion!

Real World Mom was actually owned by my significant other, T (author and mastermind behind The Inflatable Soapbox™). He offered the project to me because he felt that blogging and building a site would be something I’d enjoy. I have to admit, I wasn’t so sure of this at first.

Let me backtrack (and brag) for just a moment… T is a total ‘computer guy’. He can build machines, write programs, design websites, etc., etc., etc. (He is affectionately known around here as “The Code Wizard”! And, let me tell you, it really comes in handy living with my Tech Support!)

So, for any tweaks or changes I want to make on realworldmom.com, I’ve always got his guidance and knowledge to make it happen. (My current project is working on getting a forum together so there can be lots of interaction here. Keep an eye out for that!)

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been playing working hard to build content and traffic to realworldmom.com, and I think I went and impressed T with what I’ve accomplished so far!

Last night, he transferred ownership of Real World Mom to me, and so, Real World Mom Enterprises™ has been born! My new ‘baby’! T says it’s my early birthday gift, and I can’t think of anything that could’ve come close to being more perfect (well, except maybe last year’s gift)!

To T: Thank you for always believing in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. Thank you for knowing when to hold me and let me cry and when to offer an encouraging word and a kick in the ass to keep me moving forward. Thank you for trusting me with your dreams and for wanting me to be a part of them. Thank you for loving me no matter what. Thank you for being you. I’m very proud of you too, and I love you with all my heart. We make one hell of a team!
