Continuing with my “summer theme”, I give you this week’s Give Me 5 Monday from Becca at BeccA’s Buzz!
Give me 5 fun summer vacation memories from your childhood:
- Spending time at my grandparents’ house. They lived in upstate Pennsylvania, and I loved it!
- When I was 13, we drove to Florida, and spent a week there. I think that was my first ‘real’ vacation.
- Going to Hershey Park with family and friends. The SooperDooperLooper was one of my favorite rides! (You could not pay me to get on that thing now!)
- Sleeping late–and not feeling guilty!
- Trips to the shore. (For those of you who don’t already know, I’m originally from PA. Now, I’m lucky enough to live at the shore!)
The ‘Give Me Five’ Monday meme is designed to share fun info with each other in a simple short list! Here’s how it works. Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn’t have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified. Sign up for weekly reminder emails @ beccagirl@charter.net.

The Super Dooper Looper is fantastic! I’ve been to Hershey park a couple of times an that was def. one of my favorites! It’s the only coaster I’ve ever been on or even seen that goes upside down and does NOT have shoulder restraints, only a lap bar! LOL I’d still go on it if I fit! Our family vacations were *usually* a week long trip to Branson, MO. There were amusement parks, a water park, a helicopter experience (I did alone when I was like 13 because no one would do it with me!), go carts, shows….why am I making it sound like that was only back in the day, Branson is still a great little vacation spot. Only now I do more shopping than coaster rides LOL Great GM5 list!!

My children are LOVING sleeping late! I’m working summer school this summer so no sleeping in for me, but I get home at noon, which is cool.
It sounds like you really enjoyed your summers.

I gotta say– the one that rang truest to me was sleeping in without guilt. Even if we deserve to sleep in, why do we bother with the guilt? It’s so annoying!

I love me some rollercoasters too. Both of my kids are definitely down with the guilt-free late sleeping. When I was a kid I would a week each summer with my grandparents too, loved it! Great list BeccA.

We took absolutely NO vacations when I was growing up; not sure why. Could it be the nine kids and little or no income, maybe?
LOVE sleeping in….those days are numbered for me, though.
