Well, we did it. I took B yesterday to get her cartilage pierced. She’s thrilled! (For the background on this saga, read this.)
Just before getting her ear pierced (sorry for the blurry photo, used the camera in my cell phone):

This is right after. See the pretty new earring? And the BIG smile?

We’ll see what the fallout from her father is at the end of the week (if he notices!). But, B is happy, and that makes her mom happy!

That’s great! I think girls should be allowed to pierce their ears- I got mine each pierced 4 times. I think it allows for self expression & less rebellion.
She looks super cute with her earring!

YAY! just make sure she doesn’t use peroxide to clean it, eh? good for you for being the cool mom. i’m so not planning on being that mom.

I had my cartilage pierced way back when, but it never healed right, so I had to take it out – boooooo
It was my most painful piercing. You are a super cool mom for letting her get pierced. But beware – it’s addictive! I have 11 now! LOL

You’re the coolest mom! I pierced my oldest ear myself when he was 13. All my church and homeschool pals though I was nuts. I thought it wasn’t worth a battle.

My girl talked her Dad into taking her to get her cartiledge pierced when she was 13, knowing I wanted her to wait… me, I took her to get her bellybutton pierced when she was 16… that’ll show HIM. haha… we parents are so wrapped around these kids’ fingers.

Wow, she’s a brave one. She’s a cutie too! Her mom is certainly way cool

You’re such a cool mom!!!
I used to have 10 piercings in my ears but have since taken them out. My cartilage piercings kept getting irritated and it was too painful.
On another note, yesterday I learned about an East Coast Bloggers Conference being held in Princeton…any chance you’d be interested in going? I’m hoping to but only if my bloggy crew go also.

Congratulations – she’s adorable – ear piercing is a rite of passage and one that my youngest daughter (she’s 6) is bugging me to allow her to take, already.

She looks very happy. Piercings are cool and your little one has to grow up sometime. Tell her it looks great.:)

She doesn’t even look nervous in that picture! Very cool! My daughter got hers pierced when she was 9, she’s been very good about keeping them clean, no problems.

Wow – I’m a way more progressive mom than I thought! I let my daughter get her ears pierced when she was 8. I’ll have to tell her this to help her get over the fact that I’ll never let a video game player in the house!

My first ear piercing did not go anywhere nearly that well – and I was about that age, too. I so wasn’t smiling – more like crying

Don’t tell her dad, but I think it looks AWESOME!
Did it hurt? I’ve always wanted to get this done, but I was told it hurts.
