Yahoo has turned down Microsoft’s $44.6 billion bid to further screw up take the company over. (“Yahoo Formally Rejects Microsoft Offer”.)
Even though the maker of “Windoze” will probably eventually win this war, it’s so nice to see someone tell them “No.”!
Can you tell I’m not a huge fan of Microsoft? Good!
As you may already know, I live with T, who is a Computer Tech God, and he converted me to Linux some time ago.
So far, Ubuntu is my favorite distribution, and the one I’m currently using is Ubuntu 7.10/Gutsy Gibbon. It’s extremely user-friendly, and, unlike “Winblows”, very customizable–which I really like!

@Maria: Linux is an operating system, and there are many, MANY different versions. Windows is an operating system–just a far less superior one than Linux, in my opinion.
T, my live-in tech support, says the MacBook Pro’s are great and if he can get the money together, he wants one too. (That’s a high recommendation coming from him!)

@Maria: Macs are, as you know, very pricey. But, since the release of OS/X almost a decade ago, they run a modified version of BSD UNIX, similar to Linux. If you can afford it, I would recommend a Mac over a Linux laptop for ease of use and support.

I bought my MacBook Pro on the apple website in the refurbished section. I got a great price and I LOVEEEEEEE it! I haven’t had any issues with it that make me think I got someone’s lemon…so I’m very happy!
